ABC news posted, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to 50 months in prison for his conviction on two prostitution- related offenses.
He gets credit for time served since his arrest. Combs has already spent 12 months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Before the judge read the sentence, Combs tearfully apologized in court, saying, “I’ve been humbled and broken to my core.”
Federal prosecutors argued Combs deserved at least 11 years in prison, while Combs’ lawyers asked for a sentence of no more than 14 months.
In Contrast:
Texas pastor Robert Morris, who founded the Gateway Church, pleaded guilty to abusing a 12-year-old girl in Oklahoma more than 40 years ago, in the 1980s. Known for his links to Mr. Trump and his Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, he was handed 10 years in prison, of which 9.5 years were suspended, meaning Morris will now serve just six months in prison. Compare Mr. Morris to Jared Fogle, the Subway spokesperson who was sentenced to 15 years in jail for child pornography having sex with underage children.
Supposedly, “a man of the cloth” and a Texas Evangelist, and friend of MAGA who abused a 12 year, old gets a slap. Mr. Morris served on the evangelical advisory board for the Donald Trump 2016 campaign.
Anyone who abuses a child should be in jail for a very long time, if not forever. A 12 year old! WTF.
On the other hand, Sean “Diddy” Combs get 50 months for similar activities, yet among “consenting adults”.
With this huge disparity in sentencing, one may speculate it may have been the proximity of Mr. Morris to MAGA, or as a colleague of mine suggested “White Privilege”.
Or is it just Black Justice v. White Justice?
