Religion and Abortion

Religion and Abortion

I am not an expert on Christianity, Judaism, or Islam however on the topic of abortion, neither the Old Testament nor the New, the Tanakh or the Koran mentions abortion.

So where does the religious right support their position on this matter.  Last time I checked the US is not a Theocracy. With the exception of Ex-President Trump who believed otherwise, our government is not led by God or by a person or persons who claim to rule by divine authority.

It is, in addition, interesting to note that even the Roman Catholic Church did not oppose abortions until sometime in the 1930s, and even then, not on religious grounds.  Current objections by some Catholics are not based upon Theology, but rather on a murky legal concept – not written down, or universally agreed upon.

Just food for thought from I am the Dumb Guy
