When Pigs Fly
On May 8, 2025, CNN — Reported, the “Long-delayed next Air Force One jets from Boeing might now be delivered by 2027 — in time for President Donald Trump to use them, according to a top Air Force official.”
On May 14, 2025, NBC News reported, “Converting a Qatari-owned 747 jet into a new Air Force One for President Donald Trump would involve installing multiple top-secret systems, cost over $1 billion and take years to complete, three aviation experts told NBC News.
They said that accepting the 13-year-old jet would likely cost U.S. taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars over time, noting that refurbishing the commercial plane would exceed its current value of $400 million. The project might also not be completed by the end of Trump’s term in 2029, at which time the plane is expected to be handed over to Trump’s presidential library foundation.”
WOW. Can somebody please explain this illogical logic.
So is the US Government gifting Mr. Trump an aircraft that likely will never be put in service except for a few remaining months of his term in office.
Then what will be the additional cost to remove the advanced avionics and top-secret systems from the aircraft before “Gifting” it to Mr. Trump or does the Government give it to Mr. Trump as is.
Talking about uncovering waste fraud and abuse, where is DOGE or any other Governmental oversite on this.
In the deficit ridden “Balance Budget” presented by Mr. Trump, perhaps the “Capon” congress can strike funding for this albatross to reduce the deficit.
“When pigs fly” comes to mind.
