The plight of TSA Workers

The plight of TSA Workers

On Shut Downs

According to ABC news, Long lines at airports across the country, including at New York City-area airports, continued on Friday with Transportation Security Administration workers still going without pay amid the partial government shutdown.

Yet congress is indifferent, going in and out of session, enjoying their plush life style, with complete disregard for the plight of the workers.

The reason:

The Constitution. Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution states: “The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States.”

In addition, the 27th Amendment prevents Congress from passing any law affecting its pay for the current term.

Okay, the remedy is simple: to comply with the Constitution, lower the wages of our representative $5.00 per day.

Only then will they move to end this their arrogant behavior.

So write your legislator, be it senator or congressman, to introduce and pass a law that in the event of a government shut down their wages is reduced to $5.00 per day.

Just a thought.
