Presidential Oversight or Silencing the Nay Sayers

On March 7, 2022, NPR had the following headline: Russia has reasserted state control over the country’s major media companies. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a measure criminalizing reporting that contradicts the government’s version of events.

TASS the Russian print media is registered as a Federal State Unitary Enterprise, owned by the government of Russia. Headquartered in Moscow

All media outlets are owned and controlled by the North Korean government. As such, all media in North Korea get their news from the Korean Central News Agency.

Apparently impressed how these media outlets report glowing news and coverage for his respective dictator buddies Vlad ad Un, Mr. Trump wants similar “kinder and gentler coverage “ for himself.

Taking a page from the North Korean and Russian Governments:  In a quote from the White House February 18, 2025, Mr. Trump issued an executive order “REINING IN INDEPENDENT AGENCIES”: So-called independent agencies like the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have exercised enormous power over the American people without Presidential oversight.  It states in part  “all agencies must: (1) submit draft regulations for White House review—with no carve-out for so-called independent agencies, except for the monetary policy functions of the Federal Reserve; and (2) consult with the White House on their priorities and strategic plans, and the White House will set their performance standards.”

Love,

Wanna be Dictator Don

Mr. Trump banned the Associated Press from the White House until it changes its style from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.   It seems a bit petty, but it is all about control.

Is  Mr. Trump an Autocrat a Zealot or King or dictator in waiting!!!

So much for freedom of the press and independence.

What about import issues like the price of eggs!!!

Just a thought as I am the dumb guy.
