IS Mr. Trump trumping Mr. Trump

What a corundum!!!

What a stark change in tone from Mr. Trump.

Perhaps in his effort to show empathy on March 1, 2026, on Truth Social, Mr. Trump stated,  “As one nation, we grieve for the true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, even as we continue the righteous mission for which they gave their lives. We pray for the full recovery of the wounded and send our immense love and eternal gratitude to the families of the fallen. And sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That’s the way it is. Likely be more.”

Shall we take a moment to review the not so recent but “eloquent” comments by Mr. Trump concerning our troops:

The September 2020 article by Jeffrey Goldberg reported that during a 2018 trip to France, Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, reportedly saying “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers”. The report also stated he referred to Marines who died at Belleau Wood as “suckers”.

Additionally, John Kelly, Trump’s former White House chief of staff and a retired Marine general, confirmed the report, stating that Trump made disparaging comments about service members and veterans.

In a statement provided to CNN in October 2023, Kelly confirmed previous reports that Trump called fallen American service members “losers” and “suckers”.

In 2017, while visiting Arlington National Cemetery with Kelly to pay respects to Kelly’s son, Robert (who was killed in Afghanistan), and again that Trump did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees, reportedly saying of a planned military parade and “No one wants to see that, the wounded”, Trump reportedly turned to Kelly and asked “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?” regarding the soldiers’ sacrifices.

Kelly said Trump described those who defend their country in uniform, including those who were captured or seriously wounded in combat, as “suckers” because “there is nothing in it for them”.

A common theme emerges: “What’s in it for them!!!” and they are “losers and suckers”.

Mr. Trump even had “kind” words about John McCain saying:

“Somebody should run against John McCain who has been, in my opinion, not so hot.” And I supported him; I supported him for president. I raised a million dollars for him. It’s a lot of money. I supported him. He lost; he let us down. He lost. So, I’d never liked him as much after that because I don’t like losers. He’s a war hero. Donald Trump then said: “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured, okay?”

At least Mr. McCain did not use bone spurs as an excuse not to serve!!!

What is it Mr. Trump?

Are only the troops that died at your command worthy of empathy, and the rest losers and suckers?

Or is it just expediency and another attempt to divert from reality?

Just a thought

As I am the dumb guy
