Mr. Trump may have stumble on a brilliant way to lower prices.
Quoting from The USA today, “When USAID provides food aid to people in need, we source 41% of that food directly from American farmers ‒ approximately $2 billion in food aid purchased from American farms in states across the country: everything from wheat from Kansas, soybean oil from Iowa to peanut products from Georgia.”
What a stupid stroke of genius! While bankrupting the very farmer who voted him in, Mr. Trump’s actions may undoubtedly cause a drop in US food prices.
So once again he has kept his campaign promise.
Fast forward six years…. While On January 12, 2018, President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as “shithole” nations during a meeting, the brilliant Mr. Trump might have been thinking of a quote from Marie-Antoinette “let them eat cake”. As it was the queen’s response upon being told that her starving peasant subjects had no bread.
And diplomacy through starvation is a great way to cut the cost of government and further support China and Russia becoming the dominant protectors of former free societies.
Ironically, it may help equipment manufacturers as heavy equipment will be needed to bury the masses who starve or die from disease.
But then there is Mr. Trump’s tariffs to prevent prices form coming down, oh my.
